12 Regiment Atlantic Rowers Reach Antigua in 45 Days

Huge congratulations to Force Atlantic, our intrepid team of rowers from 12 Regiment Royal Artillery, who have successfully completed the Atlantic Rowing Challenge.

The team arrived in Antigua on 30 January, having spent an extraordinary 45 days, 11 hours and 48 minutes at sea after departing La Gomera in the Canary Islands.

Widely regarded as one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world, the Atlantic Row saw the crew—made up entirely of junior serving soldiers—push themselves to the absolute limit. The team consisted of skipper Bombardier Katie Devine, Bombardier Olie Cutting, Bombardier Vicki Wratten-Wood, and Gunner Emma Mackenzie. They finished an outstanding 4th in the Mixed Class and 31st overall.

Every single mile was rowed in support of three chosen charities:

  • The Jessie May Trust
  • The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund
  • The Twelfth Trust

The team has also made history as the first-ever all–Other Rank (OR) military crew to take on—and complete—the World’s Toughest Row. Remarkably, every member of the crew began this journey as a complete novice, proving that with the right mindset, anything is possible.

Their ethos—Empower, Believe, Achieve—ran through everything they achieved. Their mission was simple but powerful: to inspire the next generation of junior leaders to push boundaries, embrace challenge, and realise their full potential.
