RAYC member Ian Rivers is poised and ready to set off from New York for his solo row across the Atlantic, should a weather window for departure open up on Thursday.
Here we see him proudly displaying the RAYC Defaced Blue Ensign, which will fly in pride of place on his row boat ‘Sentinel’ during the 3000+ miles at sea.
Those who feel like sponsoring Ian in this worthy cause , can do so via his website at https://rowsentinel.com. Ian is raising money for the Special Air Service Regimental Association (SASRA) and St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford, whilst also raising awareness of the mental health challenges facing serving and veteran personnel. He has personally funded the £25,000 purchase of the Rossiter Ocean 2 boat to ensure the venture takes place!!

Ian successfully completed his crossing and made an excellent presentation to the RAYC AGM at Larkhill.
