For over two weeks of offshore sailing, a crew of eight from the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery embarked on a challenging voyage designed to build resilience and leadership. Facing unpredictable winds, difficult sea conditions, and the demands of round-the-clock navigation, the team honed essential sailing skills, teamwork, and decision-making under pressure. Each member took turns at the helm, managing sail trim and problem-solving in dynamic situations, all under the guidance of the RA Bosun and Day Skipper. By overcoming mental and physical challenges, the crew developed confidence, adaptability, and camaraderie. By the end of the journey, six novice sailors achieved their competent crew qualification, marking a significant milestone in their offshore sailing journey.
